If your GP, nurse or doctor from another hospital has referred you for a diagnostic test at the azM, please report to the Diagnostic Centre ('Diagnostisch Centrum'). The desk staff will fill out the azM forms for you and tell you where the test will take place.

Ultrasound scans
Ultrasound scans image the organs in the body using sound waves. You cannot hear these sounds. The waves come from a small device that sends out and receives the waves through the skin. The skin is smeared with a gel to optimise contact. These tests involve no X-ray radiation, are painless and take about 15 minutes.

Gastrointestinal endoscopy in Annadal
The azM aims to continually improve the diagnostic quality and accessibility of its services. One bottleneck in diagnostics concerns patients who have been referred by their GP for a gastrointestinal endoscopy (i.e. imaging of the stomach or intestines by way of a tiny camera attached to a tube).
