By car
Coming from Eindhoven or Liège on the A2 highway, take exit 55 ('academisch ziekenhuis Maastricht'). Then, follow the signs.

By train
Take the train to the Maastricht Randwyck train station. From the platform, take the stairs up to the exit. At the top of the stairs, turn right and follow the road. Take the first street on the left towards the hospital (you can follow the signposts). It will take you around 10 minutes to walk from the station to the azM.

By bike
You can park your bike in the hospital's bike shelter for 50 cents per day. The shelter is below the multilevel carpark, covered and under surveillance.

By Bus
From Maastricht you can take Veolia city buses, to the bus stop "academisch ziekenhuis Maastricht":

• line 1 (destination malberg v.v. de heeg)
• line 3 (destination Heugem,Maasveld v.v. Wolder)
• line 4 (destination azM v.v. Villapark)
• line 10 (destination Eijsden v.v. Pottenberg)

If you are coming from elsewhere in the Heuvelland area, you can take the 57 (destination Maastricht - Gulpen).

By car
Directions from A2 highway from the north (Eindhoven):
Turn right at the first traffic lights in Maastricht and follow the signs for Hasselt/Centrum. Take the Noorderbrug across the river Maas and at the traffic lights, follow the signs for Hasselt/Tongeren/Luik. At the roundabout (Koningin Emmaplein), turn right into Sint Annalaan. Turn left at the next roundabout and follow the road which bends to the right into Brouwersweg. After about 100 m you will see the sign 'diabetes zorg Maastricht', where you turn right (you are still on Brouwersweg). After another 100 m you will see a small roundabout. The outpatient clinics are housed in the Teikyo building, the main entrance is to your right. You can use the wheelchairs near the entrance if needed.

Directions from A2 highway from the south (Eijsden)
At intersection Europaplein take the 'Centrum, N278' exit towards Maastricht's city centre. Cross the J.F. Kennedy bridge and go straight on past the roundabout (Tongerseplein) and traffic lights until you reach the second roundabout (Koningin Emmaplein). Turn left into Sint Annalaan. Turn left at the next roundabout and follow the road which bends to the right into Brouwersweg. After about 100 m you will see the sign 'diabetes zorg Maastricht', where you turn right (you are still on Brouwersweg). After another 100 m you will see a small roundabout. Parking
You can park your car for free to the left of the main entrance, near the small roundabout. 
 
Public transport
Buses leave from Maastricht's central train/bus station towards the Annadal Medical Centre every five minutes. You can take the following lines:

• line 1 (Malberg)
• line 2 (Oud Caberg)
• line 6 (Daalhof)
• line 8
• line 9
• line 10

Get off at the Via Regia/Sint Annadal bus stop and walk to the medical centre via Brouwersweg (see map above).

By car
From the north: A2/A79 highway (Eindhoven, Heerlen, Aachen)
At the first traffic lights on the A2 highway turn right, direction 'Centrum/ Ring Noord'. Then keep following this road, straight ahead past two sets of traffic lights and the bridge across the Meuse '(Noorderbrug'). After the bridge you need to keep left at the first traffic lights and turn left at the second lights, direction 'Centrum-Vrijthof'. When you come to the roundabout ('Koningin Emmaplein'), take the second exit ('left') onto the 'Hertogsingel'. At the traffic lights, you go left (direction 'Vrijthof') into'Calvariestraat', and then immediately take a right turn into 'Sint Servaasbolwerk'. Turn left at the end of the street, and you will find Klevarie to your left. 

From the south: A2/E25/E40 Liege/Brussels/Verviers
From the highway, take exit Oranjeplein direction 'Ring Zuid/Centrum/N278' (before the first traffic lights). This exit will take you accross the highway, the railroad, past the MECC and accross the river Meuse (John F. Kennedybrug, N278). At the traffic lights on the other side of the bridge, go straight ahead onto the Prins Bisschopsingel (N278) and past a traffic light. At the roundabout ('Tongerseplein') take the second exit, direction Vrijthof, onto the 'Hertogsingel'. Turn right at the traffic lights, and immediately take another right turn into 'Sint Servaasbolwerk'. Turn left at the end of the street, and you will find Klevarie to your left.

By bus
There are three busses you can take to the bus stop Tongersestraat:

• line 3 to Wolder
• line 4 to Villapark
• line 53 to Pottenberg

The ride from the station to Tongersestraat takes about fifteen minutes. From the bus stop to Klevarie is a three-minute walk. 

Parking places for disabled visitors
The parking places on level 2 and the middle deck of the multilevel carpark, near the overpass, are reserved for the disabled.

Vehicles higher than two metres
Vehicles that are higher than two metres - e.g. wheelchair vans - should take a different route. From the traffic lights on Oeslingerbaan, drive towards the azM and take the first road on your right (before the Oxfordlaan multilevel carpark). Report to the guards at the first driveway on the left (via the intercom at the barrier).

Reduced parking fee
You are entitled to a reduced parking fee if:

• your visit to the outpatient clinic takes longer than 3.5 hours
• you are admitted for only one day
• you have been called in for a preliminary examination 

In these cases you can buy a discount card at Facility Services Desk on level 1, near the Poliplein. With this card you only pay a € 1 parking fee at the multilevel carpark's cash desk.

Visitors' suscription
Alternatively, you can buy a visitor subscription if:

• the patient you are visiting has been in the hospital for more than three weeks 
• you are a family member that cares for a patient
• the patient's illness requires visits outside regular visiting hours (i.e. longer than three hours a day and/or more often than twice a day)
• the nursing ward arranges this for you with Facility Services

In the above cases Facility Services will provide you with a statement that you can use to buy a subscription pass for €5 per week from the Q-Park porter's lodge.

Free short term parking
Visitors and azM staff can park for free in the multilevel carpark for a maximum of 15 minutes. You receive a parking ticket at the barrier which you can use to exit the carpark within 15 minutes without paying at the cashier's window. (Separate agreements have been made with suppliers.)

In addition, azM has a 'Kiss & Ride zone' for carpooling staff and visitors, and those being dropped off/picked up by their partners. This zone is located directly behind the Emergency Room's ambulance entrance (turn right after the parking deck) and marked with a blue line. You can park here for free for about 10 minutes.

Research volunteer discount card
If you are volunteering for a research project, you will receive a discount card from the researcher concerned.

Police Surveillance
The area directly in front of the azM's main entrance (under the visitors' restaurant) is only for buses and taxis that are transporting patients. However, many other people regularly use this area, such as suppliers making quick deliveries or people dropping off or picking up someone. This causes inconvenience, especially for patients who are waiting in the area. Moreover, it can also lead to dangerous traffic situations. The Maastricht police department is monitoring the area regularly, and fines people who are speeding or using the bus lanes. Visitors who only need to be at the azM briefly can use the short-term parking possibilities mentioned above.
